Amanda Brugel

Brugel, the only Canadian on the show's cast in Season 1 she was rarely watched. Since then, she has been a part of the cast ever since. In discussing her character, as well as any parallels to her daily life that isn't captured by the cameras She was able share her personal experiences with racist treatment to the "Marthas" by stating in part, "I use it, and not just for her job within the home as Martha. Martha, but I very heavily lean towards race and, like I mentioned earlier the past, which includes experiences where you feel that I've been the victim to situations simply because of the color of my skin. The race I'm from has never caused me to suffer physical injuries during my lifetime, but the verbal abuse I've encountered. All racial insults that feel as a real hit or impact on me, can be used in the show when someone says something that is hard and biting. This feeling is used in almost every scene because I feel like she's punched or slapped in some manner in nearly all of the scenes."
