Madekwe was raised by an ethnically mixed family. Both her parents were both English. She was raised in a south London council estate and attended The Brit School at age fourteen. She received her Bachelor of Arts in acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. As a student at the academy and performing in numerous stage productions, such as the King Henry V as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe first began her career as an actress in the movie Storm Damage. Since then, she's appeared as a guest for Teachers, Doctors, Casualty as well as Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe debuted in the US in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama show was telecast at The CW for only two episodes before being cancelled. In February of 2011, she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. After appearing on the show for the initial two seasons it was reported in late May 2013 that Madekwe would depart the series following an appearance as a guest in the premiere episode from the 3rd season. From 2014-2016, Madekwe starred in the role of Tituba in the TV series Salem. In June 2012, the actress married her long-time boyfriend, actor Iddo Goldberg. They collaborated in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He was also a part of the cast with Madekwe in Salem.

Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress, was born into a huge family in Hamilton, Ontario. She was raised by both parents Roy and Patty together with four older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's brothers, who were all very athletic, played hockey in the winter months and played baseball in the summers, meaning she basically grew up in arenas and baseball parks. Ashley did not walk; instead, she was a dancer. When she was two and half she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley was hooked on dance immediately. Ashley was a competitive dancer throughout the various divisions until she finished high school. She competed in ballet, tap, jazz as well as pointe and the acrobatics. She won the top individualist in all the most prestigious dance competitions like, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance just to mention a few.
